Arncliffe & Malham
The end of Sepember 2002
Mart & Dave explore the "quieter" Dales roads
Four views of Raikes Cottage Tea Rooms in Arncliffe, the bottom of the road that goes via Yew Cogar over to Malham.
A very friendly place with excellent food and drinks, bikers more than welcome, although space is limited.
In fact the owner says that all food and drinks will be free for the first person to turn up on a Scott Squirrel!!
(Please don't turn up in numbers more than 10 or so, as some have in the past)
Five spectacular views of Yew Cogar valley back down towards Littondale and Arncliffe
Be warned though, Sheep territory, not that you'd go fast, just plod along and admire the fantastic scenery!
Beware also of the gated bridge at Darnbrook, after a steep descent you'll come across this, if open all is well, but if closed, please close it after you have passed it.
Now over the tops and descending into Malham, with stunning views of Malham Cove, 270' high in the middle!
To Get to Arncliffe take the Grassington road from Skipton and head past the Grassington turning towards Kettlewell, after passing the impressive Kilnsey Crag, take the next left turn up Littondale to Arncliffe, to find the road over to Malham via Yew Cogar and Raikes Cottage Tea room, bear left when you enter the village, i.e. not towards Litton and Foxup.
