This is a real picture postcard pub and is highly recommended for a visit. The Anvil Inn was converted from a working forge in 1986 and the original anvil is still in its place within the bar. The pub serves both excellent real ales, (featured in the CAMRA good beer guideand recived the CAMRA rural pub of the year award 2004), and delicious locally produced food. It is open for Bed and Breakfast all year, has a camping field and large rally field within a stones throw.

The landlord, Andy, is a biker, and makes everyone very welcome. There is a separate "biker's rock bar", with a customised Harley in the middle of the bar, and pie & peas, tea, coffee etc available. The pub itself also serves proper meals. Recommended to anyone who would like to socialise with other like minded people, whatever the weather. Directions: From Boothferry bridge take the Selby road. The pub is about two miles further on the left. It's a big pub and is easily noticeable from the road. |

The camping field has exellent views over the moors and out to sea,with a small shower block and outside toilet. Also there is an eight birth static caravan and a couple of rooms in the pub when available. On the August bank hol. the 'TEES TORNADOES MCC' hold their annual rally there. Scottys never going to be the best lookin landlord in Yorkshire, but he certainly makes up for it in character n charm. |
